While the Dow and NASDAQ continued to plummet in the week leading up to the NFL draft, former Cal cornerback Deltha O’Neal’s stock was going up. The Denver Broncos took the kick return specialist sooner than almost anyone expected on Saturday, and with three other ex-Cal players being selected in the later rounds, it was clearly a Bear market. -more-

Six graduates of Berkeley High will be inducted into the school’s hall of fame at a ceremony later this month, joining 55 other BHS alumni who have been previously recognized for their accomplishments. -more-

Offensive consistency was the focus when the Cal football team participated in a 90-play scrimmage on Saturday morning, and though projected starting quarterback Kyle Boller had a strong outing in the air, it was the productive ground game that drew the most attention. -more-
