Former Deputy Chief Roy Meisner is the city's top cop today, since Dashchel Butler has just retired from the police chief position. Butler stepped down Friday. 

Police dispatcher Ed Tan said that Meisner has not been named as an official replacement for Butler, but is instead considered the interim chief.
