Cal’s track team trip in ‘95 

Bore a banner blue and gold 

With ursine emblem, in reprise, 

The Bear became Cal’s mascot, bold. 

A cub T. Roosevelt set free 

Inspired the plushy, stuffy, toy 

(He spoke at Cal, nineteen-oh-three) 

Now “teddy bears” our tots enjoy.
